Short Hair

Those who knows me would already have known how much I have loved playing around with my hair in terms of colours and style.

I went from Ombre Blonde.

TO being a full redhead...

which i miss it really much but the only problem with redheads is that, the maintenance of the hair colour is really very time-effort.

One weekend, le-boyfie came down to KL from Singapore. Brought me to the salon and tadah!

Yes, Hair is short now. (Short at the inner back)

It's been almost a month and I am still not used to it. BUT, hair growth is much more noticeable. I do not have anymore damage bleached ends, so therefor I do not have any blondes left. So sad. I miss being blonde, but it damages my hair sooooooooo much. I guess I would have to leave it nice and keep it good until it is long then only bleach it. :D

I guess there is only ONE style I can do with short hair, So my hot rollers, and most of my hot stylers and styling tools and products are back in the cupboard till next time when hair is long enough to be played with.

Let's face it - English is a crazy language.

We take English for granted, but if we explore its paradoxes,

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing,

Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend.

[Review] BRTC Perfect Calming Gel

Anyone who knows me would know that I have very sensitive skin and have minor Rosacea. So i have very particular with how i take care of my skin. I know many people would be fussing saying that I shouldn't be using so much stuff if I have sensitive skin and all that, but this is me and I am out to find my holy grail products. I don't believe that nothing would work, it's just what would work and what wouldn't. Every skin acts differently.

So, on the search to hunt for calming gels and all that. I have tried and tested on the all time famous aloe vera, enchancer, seaweed, cooling mask, calming mask and so on. And i stumbled upon BRTC Perfect Calming Gel from the Perfect Calming System.

The Perfect Calming System is meant for sensitive skin. But today, I would be reviewing the Perfect Calming Gel. They also have the cream base, but i usually do not prefer cream base products cause they are much oilier. (what i feel)

BRTC is a very well-known brand in korea. Famous for their BB creams. Check out one of the reviews I did for their BB Cusion Cover here.

So WHAT is the Perfect Calming Gel?

It is a moisturizing gel that helps with soothing and hydration of sensitive skin. With plant actives that gives immediate barrier and alleviate skin irritations from internal and external stress for soft, comfortable skin.

Supplies moisture to damage tired skin and ease redness.

BRTC has already passed the Skin Irritation test and you could see the label on the box of the product.

I purchased the large size 100ml that comes in a glass tub. The packaging is amazing. Because of the heavy sturdy glass, it gives a secure feeling. Of course, you can't drop it! but it gives an extra class as well. It is a little huge for a tub, but you could always stack something on it because it has a flat surface.

I was a little hesitate with the tub cause i usually don't really like tub stuff because i hate sticking my finger into the tub and getting my fingers and nails dirty and transferring all the germs and bacteria into the tub as well. BUT, with the existence of a spatula, I guess i would be okay with it. :D The other downside about this is that, it's not very travel friendly, unless if you get the travel pack and scoop it out and fill it in the travel refill packs.

As you can see, the packaging of it is huge, and sturdy, the amount is very generous as well. I have used it for three months and I still have about three quarters left. The product is so transparent that I could actually see through the whole glass. Check out my finger at the bottom. LOL

The consistent of the product isn't very watery nor is it very firm gel texture, It's like a thick serum.

But one thing I can say is that, A little goes a long way, I did not expect it to spread out so much and that's why one tub last me so long.

What are the Ingredients?

The ingredients listed in this product is Ginko Leaf, Cabbage Rose, Witch Hazel, Soluble Collagen, Niacinamide.

AND the active ingredient of it is Blue Complex, ATOVEX, aloe vera leaf extract.

My thoughts on it.

I have been using this for almost three months, and I can say this product has really helped me with my redness, as well as tired, stressful days. Sometimes, i would lay a thick layer and do it as a face mask. My face is instantly calmed. It moisturizes and it doesn't leave a greasy sticky feeling on your face. There isn't any cooling sensation nor any stinging sensatino even applied on red flaring skin whether if it is from sun burn or from acne or Rosacea. It doesn't clog up any pores, left my face very smooth, hydrated, bouncy and supple.

Pros and Cons.

What I like

- It does what it says

- It's inexpensive for a large size

- Doesn't have any side effect or blackheads, acne or clog pores.

- It's not greasy or oily

What I Don't like about it.

- It is not travel friendly. (But there is alternate ways.)

- It's not available everywhere. Only SASA.

Biore pore mask limited edition fragrance edition [Review]

Biore has recently come up with a fragrance edition. Apparently its limited edition (as it states on the box as well), but who knows how long it will be discontinued. I know that KAO has been coming up with fragrance kind of pore strip in other countries as well especially japan, taiwan and hong kong. But so far, i only manage to get hold on the sweet floral and the fresh apple fragrance. ♡

To be honest, i really love the scent. Its not too strong where it is overwhelming, because pore strips are placed on the nose. So if its really strong, i personally cant take it. (But it various within users)

I hate those pore strips that smells on bamboo, charcoal, minerals, clay, herbs or organic. Because they are so strong and smelly! But again, its a personal preference. So some people may like it, some may not.

I do hope biore would not discontinue this or any other fragrance ones. So i dont have to start hunting around for another brand with more test and trials.

G: We knew each other through my boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend who are buddies. They hung out together and brought their girlfriends out and that was how i met her.

2. How was it when you both still hung out together after you broke up?
Y: It was weird in the beginning. Especially when i was sad because my ex-boyfriend was her boyfriend's best friend, but i guess i overcame it because she became my friend instead of my boyfriend's best friend's girlfriend. And now, it's not weird anymore.

3. What was your first impression of each other?
Y: She looked nice but i wouldn't go over to introduce myself because i was a little shy.
G: Fierce and independent.

4. What do you treasure most about this bond?
Y: We can tolerate each other.
G: We are pretty straightforward and tell each other what isn't good as well.

5. What do you loyal most about this friendship?
Y: Forgiveness
G: Honesty

6. What is the key to this friendship?
Y: Never hesitate to tell each other's mistake and willing to accept.
G: Not afraid to point out our faults and the privacy and space we give each other. Even though we don't see each other, text each other or go out as often together because now we are in two different state. our bond is still there.

7. Describe one work about each other.
Y: Sensitive. haha
G: Fierce. LOL

8. Who's most likely to get drunk?
Y: Me, cause she rarely drinks.
G: She, cause i don't drink.

9. Who seems like the big sister who is more protective?
Y: I am the fierce and daring one in terms of action but she always have the confidence to talk and react in public.
G: she is, maybe because the fact that she is older than me so it feels like she is a big sister to me.

10. What's something that annoys you about the other person?
Y: her fair skin annoys me. LOL
G: The moments when i go to her house to pick her up and she hasn't shower or get ready. HAHAHA

11. What is your favorite memory?
Y: When i was stuck at Redang and she was there with Casson (her bf) to guard me. [BONUS* My first snorkeling.]
G: Our first trip together at Redang, and her my convocation. (she took the effort to take leave and came up to KL and stayed with my parents as well!)

Obviously, I am much more vainer than her.

My turn to end with a funny face.

She is my babe, one thing we really appreciate about each other asides the trust, forgiveness and everything that is mentioned above is that we really respect our own space and time. She definitely has more friends than me. LOL but she always has time for me and be there for me when i need someone. Sometimes, she doesn't need to say the best thing or give the best solution or advice, but she just listens. (but sometimes she will find me and i will rant but she isn't listening. HAHAA) We aren't perfect and we know it.

I love coming home. One of the warmest things to see is to wake up in the morning and walk around the house with my baby following me around.

Time has passed by so fast that my honey is already two years old. I realized that the greatest thing which yet is to be the happiest thing is watching her grow.

short update.

I know it's been awhile that i have disappeared and not being as active as i was. I guess sometimes it's just a phase that i go through, when that week/month I not really settled down or don't have an ease of mind, I wouldn't have time to really blog or update about stuff and sometimes I just feel too emotional that i find it pointless to blog about my feelings. Who wants to read about the boring stuff right?

But, the main reason why I haven't been blogging much recently is because my macbook has crashed and failed on me. *sobs* It's been my second mac, and I have had it since feb 2010 so that's 4 years already. It isn't to a state where it is completely un-fix-able. It's just that i would need to pay alot to fix it. So at the time being I don't have one, all i have is my company laptop which is a windows and i am totally a NOOB-window. I can't use it for shit. seriously =.= They say once you go mac you'd never go back. this is so true.

So for the time being, bear with me. ANd another reason why there haven't been much photos is because i lack a camera and it's too troublesome a whip out my dslr for commercial usage like this, am looking to get a new camera soon. Any suggestions? So for the time being, please bear with my low quality 1.9mp front camera.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15

The skin foundation and the long wear foundation are both the best-selling foundations among all the Bobbi Brown foundations they have. Many find themselves caught and stuck in a dilemma not knowing whether which to buy. I was one of them.

So what are the difference between the both?

First, by the outside of both of it, they both look similar but yet different. (LOL. doesn't make sense right?)

The skin foundation is in a glossy taller glass bottle where the long-wear foundation is in a matte shorter glass bottle. In terms of the pump, cover packaging, it's the same. It's just the size and the texture of the glass.

As you can see from the description above, they are a slight difference with the both foundation. They are both oil-free foundation.

The skin foundation gives a weightless coverage, so it means if you want a full coverage you would need to build it up with concealer and a few layers of foundation with blending and buffing skills. Whereas the long-wear foundation gives a medium to full coverage that doesn't make your face look cakey or maskey.

In terms of the consistency of both foundation, the skin foundation is much more watery compared to the long-wear foundation. The skin foundation isn't up to a state where it's runny and flowing down my palm, it's just perfect the way it is and the best way for you to know is to pop into a store/counter and test it out.

The other thing is that the skin foundation evens your skin tone, as well as minimizes your pores where the long-wear foundation gives your skin feeling moisturized and stays for 12 hours even in the most humid conditions.

What do i think of it?

BOBBI BROWN SKIN FOUNDATION

This is a really smooth foundation that blends and oxidize into my skin really well. It doesn't break me out, nor does it give me any skin problem with my sensitive skin and all that.
It gives me a very natural dewy look as if i barely have any foundation on. Means? NO CAKEY FOUNDATION - even with my pores, wrinkles, tiny bumps, bad pimple week, redness and all.
It's liquid (water base) and much more watery compared to the long-wear foundation, but it's not dripping wet kind of consistency. Best for dry skin, doesn't make your face oilier if you have oily skin (i'm combination for those who don't know)
It's an oil-free foundation. So i really love it that it doesn't make my oily t-zone worst.
Coverage is buildable, but i usually use a concealer for special spots that i would want to cover.
My skin looks healthy with radiance after that. I call it Skin Finish cause it's like a layer of skin.
It's pricey

The list could go on about what i like about it as it is currently my favorite foundation.

BOBBI BROWN LONG-WEAR EVEN FINISH FOUNDATION

This is one foundation that really stays and last up to 12 hours.
It's also another oil-free foundation, but this gives a matte finishing rather than a dewy look.
This foundation gives a radiant look because the long-wear foundations formula is slightly different, it gives a porcelain radiance matte kind of look.
This is a much more suitable foundation if you have oily skin.
If you have dry or normal face, you need to make sure your face is properly moisturized.
A little harder to buff and blend compared to the SKIN FOUNDATION.

The best way to summarize it is that skin foundation is a winter foundation and the long-wear foundation is a summer foundation. :) at least, for me.
